The Moonshine crew made a set of custom sliding barn doors with reclaimed rollers and rail on this project. The doors are also strapped with flat steel and accented with old fashioned hardware. They sepperate the entryway from the kitchen and the family room and also provide a nice barrier from a house full of kids...
Weeks before Black Friday, the Moonshine Boys were asked to build a counter and a bar for Nettles Fine Jewelry in Saint Augustine, FL. While these gents don't normally adorn themselves with jewelry, they can appreciate the finer things in life… On a side note, Nettles does have some wooden jewelry that would fit right in around here.
The retail counter was built over 35 feet long boasting a cherry top with multiple inlays. The front is a puzzle of randomly sized maple planks capped with walnut. The vision for the merchant counter was to bridge the rustic characteristics of the reclaimed barn door in the back of the store with the jewelry itself. Both builds include a place for customers to pull up a stool and rest their feet on a custom steel toe rail.
Moonshine would also like to draw attention to the heart of the store design operation. Space Camp Co in St Augustine played a huge role in the store design, branding and retail design.
This was a fun job and the folks at Moonshine are thankful for the opportunity.

"Its a tragedy of the first magnitude that millions of people have ceased to use their hands as hands. Nature has bestowed upon us this great gift which is our hands. If the craze for machinery methods continues, it is highly likely that a time will come when we shall be so incapacitated and weak that we shall begin to curse ourselves for having forgotten the use of the living machines given to us by God." -Gandhi
